Time for a Break

Hey Shrimp-Fans!

As you may have already noticed, there is no strip today.  In fact, there will not be another Eat @ Shrimpy's strip for quite some time.  Life has become pretty hectic, and my webcomic schedule is very full at this point.  While I have another eighteen issues written, the act of drawing all of them is what takes so much time, and at this point I just can't fit it in without half-assing it, and if you know me at all, you would know that I would rather use my whole ass.

This is not the end of the Eat @ Shrimpy's crew, not even close!  Don't worry, we will be back, I promise you  that.

In the meantime, I would like to invite you to check out Oh Jeez! Comics.

Oh Jeez! Comics has not only all of the Eat @ Shrimpy's strips that you love in order by storyline, but you'll also find some strips that haven't even been released yet!  Plus, you can find strips of Luthor the Laziest Viking and Masters of the Treehouse, my two other webcomics.  These two webcomics will be continuing while Eat @ Shrimpy's takes a break, so if you like Eat @ Shrimpy's, you'll love these two.

I really appreciate all the support you have all given me over the last four and a half years that Eat @ Shrimpy's has been a regular part of my life.  It was a dream of mine to bring Shrimpy and the gang into the hearts and minds of people beyond my inner circle, and it could not have been done without your help.

See you soon!

Fishstick's Lament 4

As we come to a close on this storyline (and on Eat @ Shrimpy's in general, for now at least) we have a callback to one of the first stories we ever did "Amazing, Sensational Waffle-Flavored Revenge"

Fishstick's Lament 1

Always be wary of a story told by the guy that has digitally kidnapped you and transported you into a video game.

The Invisible Barrier

And, as if on cue, the invisible barrier on the left side of the screen makes an appearance

The Arrow

It's true!
Who remembers the giant arrow...and the fact that you couldn't move left even if you wanted
to on many of the old games?
Ah, the good old days.

Zap 7

Poor Fred.  I think we can all empathize with him on this one.

Sometimes things don't go the way you want them, even when you're trapped in a videogame

Zap 3

Well, that power wouldn't suck if they weren't trapped in a video game...

Zap 1

In true "Mega Man" fashion, of course you get a special power for beating the boss.
In true "Eat @ Shrimpy's" fashion, of course that special power is bullshit.

Power Rundown

Well, of course Wormy has mental powers!
Those brain cells have to have something to do!

Video Gaming

Well, if they're trapped in a video game, at least they got some kind of superpower, right?

Phase Four

Shit is getting real for Shrimpy and the gang.
Is this the end?
Is Eat @ Shrimpy's closing up shop because everyone is dying?
Has Shrimpy been harboring a serial murderer in his restaurant all this time?
Those answers and more as the story unfolds.

Phase Two

The B-52s are seriously the worst.
I definitely wouldn't make it past phase two.
Will Shrimpy and the gang survive?
Find out on Friday!

Phases

How can you put a price on the pain and suffering that someone has endured?
Just ask Sluggy...or Gloria Allred.

Revenge

If you don't remember that (and it was years ago, so you're forgiven), check it out here!

There is No Such Pill

Sluggy mainlines Xanax, so any pills he takes just have no effect at all.

You're Welcome

Thus starts the final storyline (at least for now).
"Payback" was never meant to be the final story, and in fact, I have years of stories left that are written that still have to be drawn.  I will get to them, eventually, but right now, there is literally no time for everything on my plate.  Instead of stopping and starting and making you guys wait for a strip here and there, I am going to work behind the scenes, and when I have a full story complete, I'll release it, I promise.  Until then, enjoy this story.  We've got a couple months left, so let me know what you think!

Desperate Times

The brick wall conversation is an homage to Peanuts, and the conversation is something that I could easily see
Charlie Brown and Linus having (possibly about the Little Red Haired Girl) once they grew up

It Speaks to Me

I think we've established how "odd" Sluggy is, and he's stone-cold sober right now!

Stunner

Who saw that coming?
No one that works at Shrimpy's, that's for sure.

Sage Advice

Even Cthulu hates Kanye.
And you know it's the truth because it's on the internet.

The Call of Cthulu

I'm 90% certain that Cthulu was inserted into Eat @ Shrimpy's for the sole purpose of allowing me to do this strip.

Cthulu

If Cthulu is going to be compared to anyone,
Norm from Cheers would be the first to come to my mind.

Hang in There

Okay, here's the story on the tapestry (and basically, this storyline in general):
Years ago, I was watching The Tudors (the show about Henry VIII and all his wackiness).  While I was not too impressed by the show itself, one image stuck out in my mind.  It was the mass execution by hanging of an entire village of people.  Of course, given my sick mind, the only thing I could  think at the time was about that damn cat poster where it says "hang in there".  I thought, if anyone was going to create anything inspirational out of that senseless tragedy, it would be Henry VIII.  And I basically crafted this storyline to find a way to introduce Sluggy's tapestry.
